The Fruit of the Spirit

Through Christ, a new covenant has been established. As followers of Jesus, we have received the forgiveness of sins and have been made righteous before God.

Knowing this, how then to proceed in faith?

The Scripture calls upon us to act in righteousness through our faith.  By seeking righteousness and following the teachings of Jesus, you have assurance you will abide in Christ.  Your faith will bear the fruits of the Spirit, including kindness, patience, love, joy, and peace, which will be carried with you wherever you go.

In the days ahead, I encourage you to remember the teachings of Christ and to keep your actions tethered to your faith. One of the best ways to do that is by beginning every day with prayer.

Through a daily prayer practice, offer thanksgiving and repentance. Read and study Scripture. Seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who is your Advocate and Comforter.  These simple actions will cultivate your faith and trust in the Lord. With confidence, know that Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of you faith. You have assurance that He will complete the good work He has begun.

May the teachings of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit be carried with you and shared wherever you go.
