Over the last week, we have explored different aspects of a life of faith such allowing ourselves to be made new every morning, taking refuge in the Lord, and reaping fruits of the Spirit because we abide in Christ.
Today, turn quietly within and ask for the light and truth of the Lord to guide you. Seek the riches within and search out the dwelling place of the Spirit. Give thanks and praise to the Lord. The precious time set aside for prayer will nurture you and strengthen you. Through Christ, you have been given entrance to the courts of the Kingdom. Allow the illumination of His peace and His love to shine on your life. There is no place like home.
What is stopping you this moment, right now, from seeking out the Lord? Is it a never-ending to do list? The buzz of your cell phone? The worries of tomorrow or the regrets of yesterday? Do not let these temporary distractions keep you from what is Eternal. Take it all to Him in prayer. There is nothing more important than tending to your relationship with God. Nothing. Through communion with the Lord through prayer, we find hope, we find courage – and we find the source of all joy.
I hit publish on this post, sending it out from my desk to yours, like casting a message in a bottle out onto the waters. May it remind you of something that you needed to hear or something needed to remember. May it give you permission to take a moment during a busy holiday schedule to pause and to clear space at the table for the Lord. Rejoice in the Lord, for He is good!
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. – Psalm 43: 3-4 (ESV)
In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. -Ephesians 2:2 (ESV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.– Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
