Often we are faced with challenges, even discouragement, for which we don’t see a clear solution. We doubt our abilities. We look with uncertainty toward the future. We may lose hope. During these times, it is even more important to seek the Lord. Philippians 4:13 was written by the Apostle Paul to the Philippians while was imprisoned for defending the Gospel. He did not know if he would live or die.
Paul writes in this letter that he would be exalted in Christ, whether he lived or died and, thus, had no fear of either. He looked with confidence toward the future, knowing all strength and provision comes from the Lord. During this time, his boldness during imprisonment gave much encouragement to other Christians around him who were continuing to preach the Gospel.
Is it possible there is a bold step you need to take, but haven’t done so yet?
How can you allow Christ to strengthen you during challenging or difficult times?
In what areas might the current situation be serving a purpose that is beneficial?
Turn to prayer and know all things can be done through Christ who strengthens us. Trust in the guidance and the provision. Christ has promised he will always be with us and never forsake us. Our strength comes from Christ.
