In the middle of activity, and throughout the day, take time to reflect on the Lord. Take time to rest in the Lord.
In Hebrew, the word “still” is translated from the verb (רפה) raph which means to rest, relax, a letting go of concerns and worries. Through stillness and rest, we recognize the eternal presence of the Lord. He is ahead of us and behind us. He is the Alpha and the Omega. Through Him all things are created and through Him all things are possible. By reflecting on the Lord, we can find true rest and true peace. May this day you abide in Christ and find your rest in the middle of activity and busy-ness.
In our daily lives, we hold many roles and responsibilities, and often it feels as if we have the everything on our shoulders alone. Today, I want to remind you to allow the Lord what is to heavy for you to carry. Reach out to Him, give him your burdens, and you will find rest. You will know He is God.
How can I make time for stillness today?
What is preventing me from finding peace?
What do I need to give to the Lord?
Scripture for Reflection:
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” – Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)
