The Lord has placed on my heart today to begin a 40-day prayer vigil. This 40-days of prayer, will begin today, Nov 15, 2016, and be completed on Christmas Eve, Dec 24, 2016.
During this time, I will be posting a Biblical verse and a short reflection on the Scripture. This prayer vigil will be completed on Christmas. I pray with gratitude and thanksgiving. I pray for unity and healing, for joy and hope. I pray for provision and comfort for all those in distress. I pray for all Christians, near and far, especially those under persecution. I pray for the blessings of the Lord, I pray for a season of renewal and spiritual revival. I pray for the Lord to give comfort and guidance to all those who seek Him and His Holy Word.
If you feel called, I invite for you to join with me during this prayer vigil and pray with me during the next 40-days.
I begin the first day with a verse from the Prophet Jeremiah, “Then you will call upon Me and come to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:12-13 (ESV)
The time now is to repent and seek the Lord. Pray with all of your heart. The Lord our God is near and listens to your prayers. Create a regular time for prayer every day, even if it is only for a few minutes. Choose a passage of scripture. Read the passage and reflect on its message. What is being told in the passage? Who is involved? What words stand out? How does this passage relate to other passages? Write down your insights. Finally, give thanks to the Lord for His many blessings, for his grace and mercy.
In the Holy Name of Jesus, Amen.
